Most automatic way to make a line appear to extend itself?

Postby dkorej » Sat Oct 07, 2006 1:51 pm

What's the most efficient way, using part of road map, to show a route "being drawn" from the starting city, and proceeding to the destination :?: This is preferred to having a complete line gradually morph into view from end-to-end at a uniform rate.

EG: Can something be used to designate the timing of the line morph without having to manually set up multiple images?

You could use the Fade Graphs option in the Industrial edition to set when different dots begin and end their fading between the two pictures.

I've tried to get the free Trial for Industrial...

Postby dkorej » Tue Oct 10, 2006 7:25 pm

... and when I do, it sends me the Professional Version installer. I wrote Sales last night about this, but they haven't responded. (I already have that version). I tried installing it anyhow, changing the installer name to be sure it didn't overwrite the earlier installer -- its the exact same bytes, internal version, everything. When installed, the About verifies its the "Pro". I would like to try before I buy, even though I know I can's save the results.

The [Free Trial] for industrial was selected from http://www.morpheussoftware.net/morpheusmorph/about.php

The installers are the same for different editions of the same program., and you already have Morpheus Photo Morpher installed, and activated already as the Professional edition. You could try the Animation Suite though, which lets you do warps and mixes, and you could see the Industrial features from there as well.

I'm trying to find those features

Postby dkorej » Wed Oct 11, 2006 6:38 pm

First I uninstalled both previous installs of Morpheus. Then I reinstalled the file I received when I asked for the Industrial Trial Version.

I see no Animation suite, and the Help | About still says Professional version. Remember the original goal was to control the timing of when the dots came into effect, to cause appearance of a line extending from point A to point B, rather than have the whole line morph into view at the same time. The Help gives no additonal information on dot-timing.

The Load Picture feature only recognizes stills. So what am I missing to try this feature out?

There are 4 programs, and thus 4 different installers you can download from our website related to Morpheus. One is for Morpher, and another is for Animation Suite. Your activation information for Morpher is saved in the registry, even if you uninstall and reinstall the program. You purchased the Professional edition of Morpher and thus whenever you install Morpher, you will see that edition, not a trial. Animation Suite is a separate program which combines the features of Morpher with Warper and Mixer. If you download and install Animation Suite, it will function as a trial, which will let you try all features, including the Fade Graphs feature you are asking about.

That was a very helpful explanation. I appreciate your patience, and I'm much closer now, but not yet there.

I've completely uninstalled the previous programs, installed Animation Suite (trial), verified its installation through both the About; note its presence by (1) having the options to morph, warp, or photomix; (2) finding the Help Procedure referencing "Fade Selected Dots"; and (3) under "Morph" I've see the ability to Edit Fade Graphs.

However, I have not found the button for Fade Selected Dots. The button is not displayed along with Move Dots, Select Dots, Add Dots: either on the toolbar, or under: Add Remove Buttons|>Tools.

The Help File Q&A for #25 assumes I know where to find it, but I can't think of any other place to look for the option.

The "Fade Selected Dots" button is like a limited version of what you can do with the Fade Graphs. Fade Selected Dots is aimed at Photo Mixes, as you can see at http://www.morpheussoftware.net/morpheu ... osite6.php and http://www.morpheussoftware.net/morpheu ... ected-dots

What you are looking for is the Fade Graphs, which you can see at http://www.morpheussoftware.net/morpheu ... ade-graphs
That option is available under the Morph menu if you select Edit Fade Graphs.
Also, if you have some dots selected with the Select Dots tool, you can enter the Fade Graphs with just those dots shown by selecting Edit / Edit Dots' Fade Graphs.

Please make sure you are not in Beginner Mode (Edit / Preferences, or right on the wizard that shows when you first start the program) or you might not be able to reach these menu options. Beginner Mode, like the name implies, is for beginners, and simply hides most of the advanced options such as Fade Graphs. Beginner Mode operates independant of the trial and/or program edition you activated.

Thank you for the explanations and references to the right Help pages! I've gotten comfortable with the Fade Dots feature and have ordered the industrial version.
