Where's my "Save As" for .avi

Postby Marlark » Wed Mar 29, 2006 12:51 am

I just downloaded the evaluation for the morphing software and loved it. I saved two programs as .avi which is exactly what I need for a video project I'm doing for my family. I came back and bought the software for $30 and now that I have it registered, I can't save it in any kind of video format except for flash and gif which is not accepted by my ProShow Gold video/slide editing program?

Where's the save as for AVI that was on the evaluation copy?

Thanks.

It sounds like you purchased the Standard edition. The Professional edition is required for AVI support. Please see:

https://www.morpheussoftware.net/morphe ... rchase.php
for more information about which features are available in which edition of Morpheus Photo Morpher v3.00.

Thanks. I just spent the extra $20 to upgrade to Professional. I think the fact that .avi is not available for the standard version is not explicit enough on the promo page since it says, "Rendering morphs in a variety of popular formats including Flash SWF and Animated GIF"

I consider .avi a popular format and therefore assumed it would be included -- especially so since it's in the evaluation version.

I feel like I got the ol' bait and switch and therefore have a poor opinion about the marketing. It would be better if at least you told trial users that they're downloading a Professional version that the standard version is missing.

As far as the product goes, it is great so far!

The about page mentions that the free trial lets you try all features, which also includes those only available in the Professional and Industrial editions.

I couldn't agree more. I think this is a fantastic product, but it is a little sullied by the apparent lack of clear information provided.

I would presume that this was simply an honest mistake, were it not for the fact that Marlark (quoted above) posted his/her message in March 2006 and I'm in exactly the same situation now in November 2007.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the problem of erroneous information has not, as yet, be fully rectified.

Great product; poor marketing. Sad really.
