Can not get Auto Run to run

I have 2 Excell files and 2 PDF files that I have burned to disc and I want to run these. They are in the CD root directory along with all the Auto Run files. When I load a CD windows asks what I want to do with the files.
In a folder on my desk top I have the same files. If I select 'Autorun.exe' I get the program list.

Please what have I missed?
