Everytime I try to render to a compressed AVI using the XviD MPEG-4 Codec the program crashes in Windows Vista. Highdef/Single pass/Quantizer = 1/Quality = 6-Ultra High. Went to XviD site - downloaded latest version. Use 3D Studio Max/Maya and other rendering programs (mentalray) and have no problems rendering to Xvid High Def...

Morpheus uses Window's DirectShow interface and rendering the AVI is generally outside of Morpheus's control. If the codec is crashing, you may need to contact the author of the codec, or select a different codec.

So, what you're saying is - I can't render in HD because XviD is the only codec on my machine that renders in 1080p. I spent $100+ on a program that can't render in HD??? Buyer beware... shame I'll have to tell people not to buy your program. Why does Microsoft Movie Maker render in HD without crashing but your program does?

No, we are only saying that we cannot provide support for software that we are not the authors of. I just tested with XviD 1.1.3 and rendered a sample that was included with the program after changing the size in the timeline options window to 1920x1080 and it rendered just fine.

If something is crashing during the rendering, however, it is not Morpheus, and you would need to ask the authors of XviD why it is crashing. Perhaps you can try a different codec, or a different version of XviD. Installing the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft's website may help as well.
