No toolbar and the move dots link is greyed out

I just upgraded from the demo version, which had worked fine for me. I have no toolbar whatsoever and, after I load my start and end photos, and add dots, the move dots link at the top of page is greyed out and there is no way to move them. What's up? I would like a useable product for my $30!

The toolbar can be toggled on and off with the oval icon in the top right corner of the picture window. Most Mac programs have this button that hides/shows the toolbars.
