alright I've combed through the forums about some type of info on why it freezes and came across something about changing the registry I went to hkey_current_user then software then git found REG_DWORD but nothing called device and nothing with a 0 that i could change to a 1 or 2 or anything. Thanks for the help in advance.

first, exit git.

You have to make a new dword value under hkcu\software\git.

Name the dword: device
Value: 0 or 1 or whichever device you're trying to select.
(hex or decimal does not matter for value as long as the value is under 9)

exit regedit, start git.
