Ark you mentioned in another thread about setting up a dummy network that can capture packets from the internet connection but I was unable to find the thread and I was wondering how you would set this up because since I'm unable to make GIT find my packet device I was looking for an alternate method.

dummy network ... hmm. well, git couldn't see my usb wireless nic, so the way i got around that was:

1) install ms loopback adapter
2) bridge loopback & wireless adapters
3) configure git with the "microsoft mac bridge virtual nic" packet device

link for ms loopback install instructions

to install the bridge, go to your xp help-and-support center, search for 'bridge' and read the 'create a network bridge' topic. you'll want to bridge loopback and your network card.

hope that helps you
