GIT seems to be halting traffic on my m11 router...

Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me with my unique situation...

I have a nokia m11 router. I installed GIT, with the hopes of Lanning Dungeon Siege 2. My problem is not with getting the game connected, i don't even get that far.

After about 20 seconds from enabling the tunnel, all my traffic halts on the router. You can see the Rx (send?) light flickering, but the Tx (recieve?) light never lights up. No google, no MSN messenger, nothing. It infact halts all traffic for every pc on my network connecting to the internet through our router. Disabling the tunnel has no effect; to restore internet connectivity, i have to reboot the router.

I also noticed that before it disconnects, the red collision light flickers constantly. Logs in my router show no signs of any problems.

Can anybody help?

hello adam

if you can, post pics of your git configuration settings & advanced settings, as well as your LAN setup, and the setup of the other person.

if you can't post pics, write it all out.

imagine - GIT connects the two LANs together as though they were in the same room. all routers, all PCs... there could be conflict issues. check the IPs on all machines, INCLUDING ROUTERS, make sure they are the same LAN subnet but different IP each.

example.
LAN 1:
WAN address known
router 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0, port udp 213 forwarded to 192.168.0.11
pc 1: 192.168.0.11 (running GIT connected to LAN 2 WAN address)
pc 2: 192.168.0.12

LAN 2:
WAN address known
router 192.168.0.10/255.255.255.0, port udp 213 forwarded to 192.168.0.21
pc 1: 192.168.0.21 (running GIT connected to LAN 1 WAN address)
pc 2: 192.168.0.22


routers have udp 213 forwarded to the GIT pcs.
the GIT pc from each LAN connects to the others WAN address on port udp 213.

there are a few simple methods of obtaining/using the WAN address.
1) www.whatismyip.com and give it to the other party, vice versa.
2) register for a free dyndns.com domain name and run an automatic domain name update program ... give the domain name to the other party, vice versa.

you now set up GIT Configuration for which game packets to forward, and set up Advanced Config for the appropriate protocols.
