I'm confused about port forwarding on a router

I understand that GIT uses port 213, but I just want to be clear:

you do NOT need to forward these ports on your router, right?

yes, you need to forward your Git port (normally 213 between two Lans) so the two Lans can connect to each other on port 213 (Git port)

as well, your Git program must have the proper ports configured in it, so it can encapsulate the proper data and exchange it between the Lans via port 213.[/quote]
