I'm interested in making a PHP script for live gameserver stats of GIT games. first of all, is it possible to check for online/offline of a particular game behind a GIT server (or only for the GIT server itself)? and is it possible to get live server stats?

None of that would involve anything specific to GIT. Such a script would work just the same regardless of GIT or not. There is no sure way to detect GIT running on a certain IP either.
