i got this to work after a while of flipping around. the problem seemed to be that he has just a public IP and no network and i am on a network... so all we had to do was reverse server-client so i connected to him.

great program GIT - i had it a while ago and forgot about it, but now its def on startup :D

but on the other hand would it be possible for a non network user to connect to a network user? (if you get me)

this was what my logs kept telling me:

[Wed Mar 23 14:14:38 2005] network: hw:00:04:ed:0d:2c:53 EthernetII IPv4 UDP to:192.168.1.100:213 from:24.81.128.158:213 'wrong port number'
[Wed Mar 23 14:14:38 2005] network: hw:00:0d:61:46:a0:2a EthernetII IPv4 ICMP to:24.81.128.158:50845 from:192.168.1.100:771 'destination is routable'

but really - kudos to all involved in the programs development, im sure a lot of people appreciate your work!

Why do people keep reporting the unforwarded messages as if they are errors? Anything that shows up in unforwarded is because you did not set options to forward those packets. The string at the end is the reason why. wrong port number - you aren't forwarding port 213 (good, you don't want to create an infinite loop tunneling GITs traffic inside itself do you?). Destination is routable - you have the option checked 'Don't Send Routable, and the packet is routable over the internet, since its destination is a public IP (24.81.128.158) Tunneling that will likely create a duplicate packet as the actual packet and the tunneled version will both make it to the destation network.

Has anyone gotten a configuration to work for this? I tried with a few friends, they found my lan game but couldn't connect to it!
