Hi i need help.
I use a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC (right now) BUT GIT wont find it, its not in the scroll list!! what can be wrong? As i said my networkcard works fine, and i use latest drivers too. :(

any way to select it in another way maybe?

Did you forget to install Winpcap?

No. If that was it i would be a happy gamer now :/

I did also try; uninstall it > reboot > install > reboot > try without any luck.
will make a try with WinPcap 3.1 beta 4 now too..

Ok bad idea. GIT gets to "starting up" and nothing more.
Back to WinPcap 3.0 then.

anyone got any idea what i can do?

Use 0.99 BETA 4 and if it still freezes with the WinpCap 3.1 beta, edit the 'device' dword in GIT registry area and change it to 1 or 2 or something else.
Its a WinpCap bug and there are lots of post about it already.

Ark: I installd the beta version of WinPcap (WinPcap_3_1_beta4.exe) and changed device to '1' in regedit, as you told me too. This made GIT work fine and now i finaly can choose my NW-card!!

High Folks...

Have the same problem.. but am i blind or what... i cant find the path in the registry where to change the device dword.. could anyone tell me please

the regkey is

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Git\device == 1 or 2
as a dword value

default value is 0

so if u have issues with git freezing upon startup and u need a registry edit, there it is.
