Hi there,

I searched the forum for this thread and I found many, but none with a solution.
I got the same problem: where I am able to select the devices, there are some strange letters. I am able to select them but it still does not work.
I am using an Intel 2200 BG "Centrino" WLAN conenction to my router.
Is there any possibility to fix this problem?
I also tried the V0.99 BETA 3, but this program even does not start and hangs up while triing it.
Thank you,

Jorin Bonney

I don't think you searched very long, there are already many threads about this, such as:
viewtopic.php?t=292

It is a Winpcap issue.

GIT 0.98 + WinPcap 3.0 = works
GIT 0.98 + WinPcap 3.1 BETA = garbage letters in device list, does not work
GIT 0.99 BETA 3 + WinPcap 3.0 = works
GIT 0.99 BETA 3 + WinPcap 3.1 BETA = works unless Winpcap freezes on GIT startup because GIT tries to open the ndiswan adaptor the new WinPcap puts in there, which is buggy. Simply changing the registry value for device from 0 to 1 or 2 will allow GIT to start.

Hi,

thank you, now I am able to select my device but there is a new error regarding the promiscous mode. In an other post you told that it means that the network device is not able for the connection.
But I tried and got a connection, but NFSU2 is still not working.
Thank you,

The device you select must be able to enter promiscuous mode or else GIT will be unable to capture any packets from that device.
