Once again I raise the question. What could be the problem if I get that errormsg? I'm sad to say that it's not only to uninstall/reinstall (with reboots between each) WinPcap this time cause I've tried that a thousand times already. :/ I've also tried with different network cards but with no sucess. I'm about ready to go nuts!
If you have any idea please share...

Are you selecting your packet device in the advanced config? Sometimes the first device listed isn't your NIC, it can be a modem or a dummy NDISWAN adapter at times, which can even crash GIT at startup if you are using the WinpCap latest beta.
You could try the latest Winpcap beta though, and if it does crash, adjust your device in the registry at HKCU\Software\Git - set the REG_DWORD called device to 1 or 2 maybe.

With version 0.98 and Winpcap 3.0 the list is empty. When I try to use the latest betas, both GIT and Winpcap GIT never starts and the tray icon tooltip says "Starting Up".
I'll try the setting it through the registry now and keep my fingers crossed. :) Thanks for the extremely fast response! :)

OOOOH YEAH! Now we're rocking!
I just changed "device" to 1 and now it starts without problems.

Thanks for the help! :D

under hkcu/software/git, create a reg_dword called Device and set it.
