rome + ics = not working

Postby deathbymonkeys » Wed Oct 06, 2004 6:10 am

I'm trying to play a lan game, i'm on a pc connected to internet via a router pc (ics), and i'm having trouble figuring out what settings to use.
I'm trying to connect to a friend who has direct connection to net, who is hosting.
Thanks

Hi All

We're trying to play Rome Total War using the GIT, have configured it using port 26220, as posted elsewhere here.

The problem: we can see each other's hosted games but keep Failing to Connect.

We've been experimenting with every setting we understand and even the Advanced Config 'Alter Source IP' - which we don't understand.

Is there anyone here who wouldn't mind lending a hand to get this working? We're both pretty experienced with this kind of stuff and have both got fully communicating eDonkey setups working (as a kind of proof)

Cheers

Chew

p.s. system configs:

-ICS (forwarding port 213 TCP to laptop IP)
-ZoneAlarm (permitting TCP 213 in&out)
