Need help setting up GIT

Postby dsWizardry » Thu Sep 30, 2004 3:32 am

I've been looking for a program to allow me to play LAN games via the internet for quite some time now. GIT looks to be able to do everything i want however i can't get it to work. :?

Rather then describe our network setups i've created a pic with all the relevant info.

I would like a setup where anyone could host without changing any settings if possible. I hope someone can help.

P.S. Screen captures are great when explaining

The very nature of what GIT does means you really have to understand what you are doing to set it up. There are so many possibilities when it comes to network configurations and not all of them are even possible to get things to work. Even something as benign as having both of your routers on 192.168.0.1 may screw things up if you have to resort to forwarding ARP packets.
Please see the thread on GIT v0.99 BETA because the new version includes a wizard that is scriptable, and I encourage other people to write wizard scripts for other games and submit them here for others to use.
