Red Alert 1

Me and my friend are trying to play Red Alert 1 with GIT, but it doesn't work. My computer is set as a TCP listen server, and his computer is connecting to my computer with GIT. I opened port 213 on my router. On both computer we checked all the IPX packet types in advanced configuration. We also set all IPX sockets. Is Red Alert not compatible with GIT or something?

i managed to get red alert 2 working using other pc as listener and other tcp connect machine
ports 213 - 216 forwarded to listener machine and routed all ipx protocols and ports
worked flawlesly that time, have to try if it's repeatable.
( i think that XP SP2 blocks this from working somehow, have to verify this )
