Hey all. I really want to play Call of Duty online with my brother but we both have the same CD-key, so we can't join the same online CoD server. I decided to try tunneling software, and I was pointed to GIT.

But how do I use GIT??

I read the readme but I am still pretty confused. If anyone has the time I would very much appreciate a walk-through for setting one computer as a server and finding/connecting to this server from another computer. Once the virtual/fake LAN is set up, I know what to do.

Both me and my brother are running WinXP Pro. Both of us know very little about networking, especially this tunneling business.

Thanks for any help.

you need to setup a VPN using the new connection wizard in XP

    Setup An Advanced Connection
    Accept incoming connections
    Allow virtual private connections
    Add a username/password for him
Setup TCP/IP [try using 172.16.2.1 thru 172.16.2.2 for an IP range]

Now you need to have your brother setup his VPN Client thru Windows XP

Use the network connection wizard again
select "Connect to my workplace"
name "whatever you want"
host "Your ip here"
etc...

You will need to forward port 1723 (PPTP port/TCP protocol) if you are using a router.

As far as using GIT, I'm not sure myself on how to set it up

Good luck.
