Does GIT work trough a PPP connection?

Postby stargatenow » Mon Mar 29, 2004 5:47 pm

I am trying to make IPX games work trough the net with my buddy. We both have network cards installed, which are not connected to any network (and GIT is set up to sniff their traffic). But we are simply unable to see each other in-game.
My guess is that the game will see network cards and try to send LAN traffic that way, even if our computers are not part of any network?

Assuming the game is using the network cards, it should work because as far as GIT is concerned, its not dealing with modems or PPP. Set your ethernet cards so that they are the only device that has the IPX protocol on it, and make sure to select the same frame type (force 802.2 is recommended). This way the game will be sure to use the IPX linked to the network card. Make sure to delete any connection from the IPX protocol to the modem.
