It depends what you mean exactly by timing. You can control the length of the animation, frame rate, and length to sit still on the ending frames of the animation in the options windows.

yes, i noticed that i could do this for the start and end frames, but i would like to be able to extend each transition as well - not each frame that makes up the actual transition, but the time that each picture will "rest" as a completed transition.
do you know what i mean? (i'm not the most articulate)

You can change the total number of frames to sit still at the start, the total number of frames in the animation part of a morph, and total number of frames to sit still at the end of the morph. All 3 of those can be set on a per-morph basis in the Morph Options window.
The length in seconds for each of those 3 things can also be set in the same place, but changing the a time will adjust the number of frames and vice versa. Of course, this is because of the frame rate (frames per second) which can be changed for your entire timeline in the Timeline Options window.
The default framerate is 15 fps. The default length of each morph is 15 frames (thus 1 second).

ok - i've also noticed that the fps = 15. are you saying that i can change this? i don't seem to be able to see where - remember i'm blind. of course, i could be just plain daft ...
by chance, is this something that i can accomplish with the Pro version?

You can change the FPS in the Timeline Options window like I said. Please read more about it at

ok ... have xperimented with both Timeline and Morph Options but looks like i am unable to control individual transitions.
at one point, i thought that i noticed some change by clicking on each picture (i am using 40 individual photos) and changing settings would do the trick, but as soon as i changed the subsequent photo, i lost the previous settings. clear as mud?
please bear with me ...
when it refers to the start/end transitions, is it referring to (in my case), transition #1 and #40? or the start/end of EACH photo?
thx again ....

How many morphs do you have in your timeline?
If for example, you have 3 morphs and they are linked together which is the default, you can set 5 different lengths.
Morph 1 can set the length, start hold, and end hold.
Morph 2's start hold will be the same as morph 1's end hold length though.
So if you set Morph 1 to hold for the start for 10 frames, animate for 15 frames, pause at the end for 5 frames, then go look at Morph 2's options, it will already be set to hold for 5 frames at the start. You could then set it to animate for 15 frames, and hold for 10 frames at the end.
The entire animation would be 55 frames long (10+15+5+15+10) where the animation of your morphs would take place during the 15 frame segments, with 5 frames of non-movement in between the two, and 10 frames of non-movement at the very start and very end of the entire sequence.

i just know this is going to be a stupid question, so plz be patient ...
i have 38 morphs (39 pics). i understand what you are telling me, but (here comes the stupid part), i obviously don't know how to get there.
i created the layout using the Wizard and loaded my 39 pics from there. then i proceeded to add my dots for the morphing. since then, i've been buggerin' around with the options to attempt to get the very results from your last reply. i was unaware that i had to link them. how do i do this?
still patient? ... :)

By default, the morphs are linked. You can read more at
http://www.morpheussoftware.net/morpheu ... ine-window
You can link them with the option in the right-click menu for the morph.

this should come as great relief to you .. i have figured the morphing "thing" ... apparently, i have open each thumbnail so that it is viewed in the picture window and set the morph options THEN .. and i need to do this for each photo.
you might have already said that, but i must be too tired to have seen it.
MUCH thx for staying with me on this -- i can only imagine how trying some of these things must be for you! :)
you're a good sport!

The Timline Options are global (apply to your entire project) while the Morph Options apply to each individual morph. Another way to get to each morph's Morph Options instead of opening the picture and selecting Morph/Morph Options from the menu is to just right-click on the Morph X buttons in the Timeline window and pick the Morph Options from that menu.
