multiple warps/morphs

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to do two different warps in a row.

Let's say I have picture A and warp it to B (end frame). Then I want to use the result B with a totally different warp (different dots) to warp it to C.

Warp-1: A -> B
Warp-2: B -> C
Result: A -> C

I did the following steps:
1) load A create the Warp-1: A2B.avi and B.tif (end frame)
2) load B create the Warp-2: B2C.avi
3) use some tool (VirtualDub) to append the two AVIs: A2C.avi

Does anyone know a different or quicker way of doing the same?

thx a lot

You can put two warps on your timeline. You can also use 1 warp with a single key frame at 50% on your timeline.

Thx for your reply.

Yes, I can use key frames to optimize the warp.
However, I was not able to append a separate warp because adding dots in a key frame would influence the entire warp - not only from the key frame until the end frame.

Also adding two warps on a timeframe would require rendering the end frame from the first to be used as start frame for the second.
I cannot start a morph/warp/mix from results of morph/war/mix - I need to specify a file.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

thx

There is really no reason you still couldn't use the key frame. Yes the dot's would appear on both pictures and the key frame as well, but you can always copy and paste dots you don't want to appear as if they are moving, and color-code two separate sets of dots.

thanks for the very fast reply.

Sorry if I am insisting.

Of course I can use two sets of dots.
Let's say I use a blue set to make the nose twice as large. Then I use a red set in the key frame (50%) to make the head half as big.
Since the blue set "locks" the nose this won't be a way to create a head half the size with a nose relatively twice its size.

yes, I could also resize the blue set a second time in the end frame but that is probably not the quickest way...

For what you are trying to do, you may be right that it is simply easier to keep two separate layouts and use the output from one as the input to another. There is nothing wrong this this though. Most users would simply find it easier to use key frames or two warps on one timeline though.
