After reading Site Admin's reply to Tue Jan 11, 2005 1:03 am posting of similar problem, I made sure I could reach www.morpheussoftware.net. I could reach it. In fact that's how (1) I reconfirmed my activation code and (2) used that code to join this forum. BUT I still get the error message. I've tried turning off block pop ups and ads via Norton IS, and my MS firwall is off.

What else can it be done. I would like to use the software but have already reached my limit. Please help.

There is no other possibility when you receive a 12xxx error. Some firewall programs will block internet access on a per-program basis, which means that web browsers and email being able to reach our website do not mean you have allowed the program itself access. Some firewalls default to blocking all traffic except web browsers and email and even leave your computer in a state that still blocks traffic when the firewall isn't running, or when you think it is disabled.

Thanks

Thanks for the helpful, clear response.

Manually adding Morpheus to the list of internet enabled programs allowed by NIS 2005: did the trick. There's many programs NIS will pick up automatically, but not in this case.
