What type of INPUT AVI format is required?

I have just upgraded to Morpheus 1.85 Pro in order to morph the end of one video clip into the beginning of a second clip. I've tried inputting AVI clips by using the "Load Picture 1 and 2" menu drop downs but every time Morpheus states they are Invalid AVI formats. They are standard Microsoft DV AVIs (PAL) created in Premiere 6.5 and are accepted by all my other video processing software. I have tried going into "Input AVI Options..." but everything is greyed out. Please advise what AVI formats Morpheus will accept. I need to work with highest quality from PAL originals (720x576 pixel, 25fps).

Morpheus v1.85 accepts any AVI which Microsoft's own Video-for-Windows library will decode, which means it will accept any size, any framerate, and any codec you have installed. Unfortunately though, Microsoft does not support the DV AVI format using VfW. The next version of Morpheus will allow DV AVIs though.

Thanks for your prompt response. Have converted the DVs to Microsoft Video 1 and that does the trick OK.

MS Video 1 is a rather poor quality codec. If you plan on transcoding for now, a high bitrate MPEG-4 codec (such as XviD, or DivX) would get the best results withing wasting too much disk space.

Thanks again for your prompt advice. I noticed the lack of quality going the Video 1 route and before getting your response had tried exporting the original DV from Premiere to uncompressed format and this imported to Morpheus without any problems. Admittedly with a much larger file size than going your suggested MPEG4 route but, I would guess, going via uncompressed will provide the best possible quality.
