I didn't find, neither in the help Topics, nor in the FAQs, what for this function is.
I tried it out in a layout of mine and didn't detected any change.
Can somebody tell me what for.

Revert is a common option lots of programs (even basic things like Office) used to have more often that goes along with New, Open, Save, Close. Effectively, Revert is just Close (without saving) and then Re-Open. It undoes all changes you've made to the file and reverts back to the last saved copy.
