Ok, so we bought this program at Best Buy a couple years ago and installed it on the old computer (which is now extrememly slow and hardly ever used). So, i finally found the CD after looking everywhere and tried to install it on my laptop, but it asks for an activation code and I think this was on the box that is either lost or thrown away. Is there anyway to get a new one or something else that would allow me to load it onto my laptop?

We would only have records of orders placed online on our website. Unfortunately, we would have no way to look up or replace your activation code if your purchase was from a retail store.

No, the activation code is not stored on the computer. Only a cryptographic key relating to that specific computer being unlocked is stored. There is no way to retrieve the activation code from the registry, files, or inside the program itself.
