i morphed one photo into another. during the preview, the size is large. once it is rendered it is small and hard to see. how can i make the image larger for the final product?

The size of the rendered file is set in the Timeline Options window. You can enter any number for width and height.

is there a ratio suggestion for changing ht and width?

You should try to keep the radio of width to height similar to the source pictures you are using for your animation.
